Over the weekend, I found myself in White Plains, NY. I was happy to
find a branch of my bank there so I could extract funds without paying
a ridiculous fee for serving myself. I put the card in the slot. The
card was sucked in. I entered my PIN #. It was not recognized. I
entered it again. And again. And then, in large yellow letters against
a placid blue background, I was informed that my card had been
"retained".

+ 2 - 0 | § ¶Snowflakes to Ashes, Dusk to Dust
The snow is coming down like fallout from a nuke that detonated a bit
too close. It's not sticking to the ground, which is flaky with ice like the shell of the
Kruspy Krisp I ate for breakfast. The space bus is ambling along, and
the passengers are up and around. Will it take me three hours to
get to my destination this time? I'm not as worried about it during this phase of
the trip as there is the possibility of socializing with the regulars
and possibly making a few new friends, if you're willing to use the
latter term loosely.
